Winding Down with Naomi

Hmm...what is this all about, really? It's me jotting down ideas about things that go on in my life, and some occassional pictures of things I've seen and done.

Packing

Is such a slow task. (Especially when you're sorting things, trying to decide what goes now, what goes later, what I'll never need again etc!) Also, I've been nicely distracted going to weddings, visiting friends and figuring out wedding presents etc!

My room looks a lot different. It's still messy, but in a new direction- boxes are everywhere, papers are stacked so that I wont forget to deal with them before I go, garbage and recycling bags are scattered around. The good thing is that I haven't found anything disturbing hiding in my room. I generally don't have food in my room, so that helps.

The other big part of packing is trying to make sure you've got everything from the places they hide around the house. I think I'm winning that particular game!

Why have you guys been letting me buy stuff this last year??! I am just amassing more to pack (and yes, that includes shoes, books, cds and dresses!).

Boxes, boxes everywhere and not a box to drink! Wait- I don't think that's quite right. You figure it out!

Mary Poppins has just started on my random tunes...telling me that "In every job that must be done there is an element of fun. You find that fun and snap the job's a game." So I guess this means I should get back at it!

Snap... so what's your packing element of fun? It may come in handy someday.

Yeah, let me know what the element of fun in packing is. Because I can't find it. Perhaps I need to snap again.

*Snap*

Yeah, that didn't work. Perhaps the fun of packing is you get to, um...

The fun in packing is how much junk you get to throw out. :)

Every time I've moved, the stuff hiding in nooks an crannies seemed to be never ending.

Here's hoping your treasure hunt ends soon.

I hope the fun of packing doesn't last much longer. Moving is so much fun. I know it feels like a never-ending process, but the end is in sight. Then the unpacking begins.

Hi

I'm not so sure what makes it a game, packing, that is. Maybe it is the hope of being done. Maybe it was the fun/random music that I was pumping out of my computer.

I did throw out a lot of stuff.

Now comes the fun of unpacking/repacking, as I need to find all my stuff at my parents' place and figure out what I'm moving East from here.

More blogging soon!
