Winding Down with Naomi

Hmm...what is this all about, really? It's me jotting down ideas about things that go on in my life, and some occassional pictures of things I've seen and done.

Blessed Easter!

Christ is Risen!
He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!

Whew...

we had a lot of good eats today. There was a brunch after church and we went to members of Peter's church for fun and more food.

We had an Easter egg hunt, set up for us by the kids. Peter and I battled it out. I won. It will take me a LONG time to get through all of that candy.

We set up an Easter egg hunt for the kids...it took a while, but I think we did a good job. Then later there were Peep wars. They puff up in the microwave...quite amusing to watch.

Thank you all for your wonderful Easter wishes, and all the candy and food and fun! God's blessings to you all!

How do you make Peeps fight?

Well...

You stick a toothpick in each marshmallow peep (so it looks like they are holding a spear or jousting stick)--colouring the tip of one so you can tell them apart, then place them on a microwave safe plate, facing each other. You then turn on the microwave--30 s is more than plenty--and as the plate rotates under the microwave light the peeps grow enormously. The first peep to be hit by the other toothpick (or to deflate depending on what you think is a better rule) is the loser in the peep fight.

There was classical orchestral movie fight music playing as we watched--it really added to the mood ;-)
