Winding Down with Naomi

Hmm...what is this all about, really? It's me jotting down ideas about things that go on in my life, and some occassional pictures of things I've seen and done.

Feeling lonely

I'm feeling lonely on my blog. I know, you all keep saying you still read it, but it sure doesn't look that way when the comments don't appear.

Today was a bit of a lonely day too. Not too bad, as I got to chat with family and friends, but the house was empty, other than me, for a good 6-7 hours. (Dog was out getting cleaned up, house members were off shopping and doing fun errands). I was sitting, reading/studying.

The good news is that I'm nearly there. Not done studying, but the fact that my final exam is MONDAY is both good and bad. I'm more than a little excited/anxious. It will be a long day.

Yesterday was nice, my last class went well, if not being exciting/interesting. I was able to get some studying done yesterday, and then enjoy dinner with a fun group. I was even able to speak some German, but no one but Bec heard me.

I should get back at the books/lectures. Hope to somehow know that you're with me on this blog-land journey! (Not so subtle nudge to COMMENT!)

Flying animals

An interesting thought, yes? I suppose we've all seen one or two (the flying squirrel, a bat, a pegasus) but have you ever seen a pig fly?

Well... I ate at a restaurant where there were lots of flying pigs around. It was interesting decor. The food was tasty, the company wonderful. And this special dinner was a thank you to me for looking after a flying pooch. (She really does fly out of the window to see people, and her skittering around corners could be deemed flying in some peoples' books!)

It was a busy week. I'm not used to long days in class anymore. Only one more week!!

Haha!

I may have fooled you, after all! I sure took a long time to post again. I guess I should have explained that I'm supposed to be spending my time studying, instead of writing things for you to read.

Your next question will be, well then, why are you writing now? Well... I'm at school. We have a longish break between classes. I am reading up on some subjects while I wait, but don't feel that I need to do that for every moment of my day.

The next plan is to get off my chair and take Chantal for a walk. We like to walk, exercising the legs that do nothing all day when we're in class.

I've been doing a little bit of photo-journaling. Maybe that's what it is. It could be just documentation, but I'll let you be the judge. I don't have my photos/camera with me, so you'll just have to wait a little bit. Playing with photos does seem like a fun study break, which I haven't yet been using.

What else is new? Not much really. I've planned a vacation after I'm done my exam. I'm heading to Manitoba. I'm excited.

That's all for now folks. I don't promise to share wild stories with you on a frequent basis, but I hope to blog a little more frequently than I have been of late!

April Fool's!

Now I suppose you're expecting something funny. Well, if it was going to be funny, then I just spoiled it. Sorry.

Now, when I was little, April Fool's day seemed a big deal. I never seemed able to pull off jokes though. My 4 older siblings never fell for them, and I don't think my younger sister did either. Maybe I'm just not meant to be a jokester.

Some of the fun jokes I've heard about or that have been attempted on me:
Web pages backwards
Penny no longer legal tender as of Friday at 5pm
Every Flavour beans in place of j elly b elly beans.

Not many others are coming to mind. Mine were generally lame- this am I tried to say we were getting more snow...not a happy thought for all of us who got dumped on. I mean, the snow is melting, daily, but we still have a lot of it!

Any fun jokes you care to share? (Please, no playing any here!)
