Winding Down with Naomi

Hmm...what is this all about, really? It's me jotting down ideas about things that go on in my life, and some occassional pictures of things I've seen and done.

That time of year again!

So....

Happy Pumpkin carving to you all! I don't know what my pumpkin will look like this year, but I always find the carving a fun and relaxing occupation!

Here's last years:

Snow is flying here and there...travelling is becoming more bothersome/cumbersome...all those windshields to warm up/clear off etc. (And no shovel for my trunk--and I forgot my brush at home!) Silly Naomi!

Must run! The pumpkin is calling!!

What are you dressing up as?

Stuff and nonsence

Cueballs of the world-- unite!

Alright, maybe not! But I've met a few of these lately, and verified that I once was a cueball, to the satisfaction of many.

Saw some beautiful blue skies today--early this morning, before the sun was up--some great morning stars too! and then this afternoon, with great clouds.

Made some brownies for "work" and a mentor dinner tomorrow, I've been busy tonight!!
Off to sleep time now!!

Wowsers!

Do de do de do, inspector gaget......

(I think that's the origin of the word wowsers!)

Wowsers! What a great game I watched tonight!! Sens won 8-1, with 5 goals in the second period. It was a great one! (The fan of the game was a cute little 6-8month old all dressed in cute Sens stuff!!)

Now, I should probably go to bed...it's late. (And that's that!)

Sleep sweet all!
(one picture- of elephants, because I really do enjoy them! I finally scanned this in earlier today!)

La de dah!

Hi!

Wow, it has been a while. So much going on, but not much that is so exciting I wanted to cut out "sleep time" in order to write.

I've had my haircut. (Again). Crazy how often that has to be done to keep short hair looking decent (or to a look that I like, others don't seem to mind it longer/messier!) It was a nice little thing to do for myself, a time to relax. I was able to go with my friend and classmate Chantal- who now has different coloured hair. (It looks very nice!)

This week I was also given the opportunity to get some Senators tickets, so I'll be heading out to the game tomorrow night with Terra. I'm looking forward to it! And in my time off, I think I will relax, for most of the weekend, even, try and catch up on a bit of sleep, and do a delivery that I'm supposed to get done before next Tuesday.

When out for my haircut I used my birthday money to get myself "The Little Mermaid" (please, keep family routines silent, they are not allowed in the comment section!) We watched that tonight, and it was SOOOO great. Singing along with the songs, sharing our favourite parts. FUN!

Ah, it's getting harder to force myself to watch what I'm typing...a sign that I should probably head to bed, sooner than later! Good thing is--I get to sleep past 6am tomorrow!

Oh...no snow here yet, but I drove through some messy rain today! At 4 degrees C there were slushy looking drops on the windshield. I would like the snow to hold of a little while yet! What do you think?

Animals, everywhere

Well...there are some odd things you can see when driving the roads of a city.

Animals, or rather, road/sidewalk cleaning machinary that are named after animals. Within 24 hours I saw a "The turtle" which managed to throw a big chunk of a car (ie peice of bumper) out into traffic (gotta love those gutter cleaners) and a "The armadillo" which I think was travelling/cleaning both roads and sidewalks. Why was the turtle 5X bigger than the armadillo? Why aren't all city-work related vehicles names after "the" animals? What do you think the name should be for a:
Garbage truck?
Tree removal vehicles? (one of those was just here, and the guys left 2 big stumps with a happy face carved in one, and their initials carved in the other)
Snow ploughs?
Street sweepers?
Flower watering vehicles?

Let me know what you think. Please remember to phrase your response in the form of a question, no I mean with a "The" before the animal.

Thanksgiving was great. I had a great time at home, met my soon-to-be-aunt Judy, ate tonnes of turkey, patted Effie's belly (a lot!) and had an all around good time. Animal spottings were rare, but maybe that's because they've all turned into machinary. (Even in Algonquin park?!)

Hiccoughs

Hehe..here's a fun site

I post about hiccoughs because tonight at choir I had a bout of them. Not exactly the most fun thing to happen while you're trying to sing a descant!! I managed to drop out when a hiccough was coming, so I'm not sure if anyone really knew I was suffering them at the time. I did tell a few of the girls, so Laura helped me by scaring me, and they didn't return!! (Though I kept on expecting them to!)

I'm heading home for Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a great weekend. I probably won't be online much til Tuesday now!! I get to see effie this weekend, and pat little one on my own! I'm happy to have people coming along with me for the drive. Looks like we'll be heading through Algonquin park. I enjoy it, and it's very pretty. Here's hoping we get to see some great fall colours!

Enjoy your turkey!

Mmmm

Hi!

Just thought I'd say a breif hello. Supper is starting to smell wonderful. (Yes, Peter, you were right, supper is going to be a little late tonight.)

Roast beef and potatoes. Gotta love that. I think we have horseradish. (I hope we have some--one of those things that I rather enjoy now- adds some zing!)

I've been seeing a lot of nice sunrises lately. Thought I'd post a picture I took this summer. Can you tell if it's a sunrise or a sunset? How can one tell from a picture?

Toodles!
