Winding Down with Naomi

Hmm...what is this all about, really? It's me jotting down ideas about things that go on in my life, and some occassional pictures of things I've seen and done.

Running here, running there!

Didn't run around the square...though I suppose I could have!

I was off, driving, driving, driving this weekend. It went fairly well. I thought I'd let you know a bit about it. I will likely get around to posting pictures soon, but at this moment they are still on my camera.

I went to Hamilton. Enjoyed my time there. Played lots, fixed/made chairs, played in the park, saw some purty flowers.

Hung out with some great peoples...I miss doing that. I suppose that's why I went out of my way to spend my time in Hamilton, St. Catharines, and London this see those special people...and sigh to myself that I didn't get the chance to see all the other people I should have seen!

Next weekend I get to see more people, I hope. I plan on doing a bit of camping and a family party....will I see you there??

A scream....a Sob

And guess what we saw????

This guy- moving a little too slowly to be healthy.
True- Fiona says he's still not moving too quickly...he's wrapped up and in the garage garbage.

Dead as a doorknob.

Killed by a shoe. It's true. I was there. Never seen that before. I was helpful. In a way. I held the dog away from the mess/clean up. That's useful.

On a REALLY less goofie note. A classmate of mine died recently. I'm not sure that this is the right time/place/way to blog about it. But I've been talking it over with a bunch of people. I'm sad. And will miss him. (In fact, it shows me how much I'm missing my classmates...we're everywhere this year). He may remain Astro-boy in my head...dunno. (What a clever hallowe'en costume that was).

School gets me overtired sometimes- case in point. I came home at 9am last Sunday. I had in my head just exactly what I would grab from my closet as I ran out the door for church. Except when I got to the closet- I couldn't find it. I went through it a few go. Changed my plans, threw on the skirt I DID find, and was off. Then, a day or two later. Fully rested. Feeling myself again. There it was. Second item from the front of the side of the closet I had searched. HIGH and LOW (It's a long skirt, I figured I'd see it!). Wow. Did that ever rub in just how tired I am sometimes.

My mom is amazing. Though it wasn't her with the shoe today-( I could see her doing it- and this was a mom, so, GO MOMS GO!)- she talked with me last night, and comforted me and gave me some great advice.

I've been doing a lot of talking to people. Opening up in ways I don't normally. Sorry guys. Mom told me to flip through psalms and the hymn book...and this is the song that I sang, which helped me a lot last night. I hope you enjoy it too. Some verses more than others, some which made me think of specific issues that are running round my head. I almost changed hymns after the 2nd or 3rd verse...didn't think it was helping, but it did...And sometimes I had to catch a sob between lines/verses...but thanks again mom. I love you!

Dear Christians, One and All, RejoiceLSB 556

Dear Christians, one and all rejoice,
With exultation springing,
And with united heart and voice
And holy rapture singing,
Proclaim the wonders God has done,
How His right arm the vict'ry won.
What price our ransom cost Him!

Fast bound in Satan's chains I lay;
Death brooded darkly o'er me.
Sin was my torment night and day;
In sin my mother bore me.
But daily deeper still I fell;
My life became a living hell,
So firmly sin possessed me.

My own good works all came to naught,
No grace or merit gaining;
Free will against God's judgment fought,
Dead to all good remaining.
My fears increased till sheer despair
Left only death to be my share;
The pangs of hell I suffered.

But God had seen my wretched state
Before the world's foundation,
And mindful of His mercies great,
He planned for my salvation.
He turned to me a father's heart;
He did not choose the easy part
But gave His dearest treasure.

God said to His belov-ed Son;
"It's time to have compassion.
Then go, bright jewel of My crown,
And bring to all salvation.
From sin and sorrow set them free
Slay bitter death for them that they
May live with You forever."

The Son obeyed His Father's will,
Was born of virgin mother;
And God's good pleasure to fulfill,
He came to be my brother.
His royal pow'r disguised He bore;
A servant's form, like mine, He wore
To lead the devil captive.

To me He said: "Stay close to Me,
I am your rock and castle,
Your ransom I Myself will be;
For you I strive and wrestle.
For I am yours, and you are Mine,
And where I am you may remain;
The foe shall not divide us.

"Though he will shed My precious blood,
Me of My life bereaving,
All this I suffer for your good;
Be steadfast and believing.
Life will from death the vict'ry win;
My innocence shall bear your sin,
And you are blest forever.

"Now to My Father I depart,
From earth to heav'n ascending,
And, heavn'ly wisdom to impart,
The Holy Spirit sending;
In trouble He will comfort you
And teach you always to be true
And into truth shall guide you.

"What I on earth have done and taught
Guide all your life and teaching;
So shall the kingdom's work be wrought
And honored in your preaching.
But watch lest foes with base alloy
The heav'nly treasure should destroy;
This final word I leave you."

*Peeks out to see* WOW! You actually came back!

So good to see you! I suppose you're wondering why it has taken me so long to blog again. I have my reasons. Some good, some bad. Not sure if I'm going to share them now, we'll have to see.

I'm planning a trip. Don't know if I mentioned that before. It's going to be a LONG one. I figured out the number of hours on planes---not really looking forward to THAT part.

I'm not sure you'll get what you're looking for if you're after photos today. I seem to be posting a lot of photos lately...which might make my page slow to load...which might make it less likely for you to this one will be picture-less.

For now.
It's a friend of mine's b-day today. Happy b-day Mr Snevi!

I've been out to the movies this weekend. You'll never guess what I went to see. I must say- they had to chop out a tonne of the book to make that movie- and I'm not sure I'm happy with all of the editing. Ah, well. What can you do.

I discovered something this evening. A beverage sort of thing. I probably SHOULDN'T ever have it again...but stranger things have happened.

Wow. I seem to have become vague. Really vague. I don't give details about anything anymore. I suppose I am cautious about my life being an open book to people around cyber-sphere.
I guess this means, I'd prefer you emailed or called me about more details. You know the drill.
(I think I have a drill that I keep in my trunk)...nope, wait, that's not a drill.

I'm being randomly- odd tonight. Forgive me, or enjoy or what-have-you! (Can that be a single word? I've heard it used as such)

Hooray to bec for getting a place. I wish I could help you move! That would be 3 this year if I did!

Adios amigos! (and the feminine form of that!)

Interesting photos and thoughts of the weekend

This weekend I was able to spend some time with some friends. I don't have pictures of all activities (I mean watering the ducks wasn't exactly a photo-op) but there are some that you might enjoy seeing!

I have been playing with a yoyo...that photo you'll have to wait to see!

Bubbles-- wow! This photo is one of the best I've ever taken, I'd say!!

I sang karaoke with a big group...that one may also get publicized elsewhere...I actually was too busy to take photos of that one!

I tromped here and there. It was fun! Oh, should I mention I "crashed" the National youth gathering? Lots of fun...stayed longer than I expected. Met up with lots and lots of fun people!

Hope you enjoy the photos I post.

Chris got a little wet....lets just say that was VERY FUN!

Oh, yeah the interesting thoughts of the weekend...Bec is odd, I'm getting better driving randomly around this big city, printing mini versions of photos can be fun, but maybe not as rewarding as initially thought. Also, borrowing name tags is fun, especially when you feel you should return it, but don't and the person is looking for you, but doesn't look just behind him, around the post! hehe

A fun weekend

*Update* PHOTOS!

This weekend was fun! I enjoyed my time at home. I was very, very glad to be able to make it home to celebrate with my mom, to visit with two sisters, a brother, a close friend and many good friends! Ah! Home, where there is time to sit back, relax, enjoy.

Walking around town is always a treat. I took pictures...but don't think I'll put them up yet. I will, however, put them up sooner or later. Likely around the time when I can show you some pictures I took of a double rainbow. It was very cool!

Hugs to all I saw this weekend, and more to those I didn't.

It's time I was off!
