Winding Down with Naomi

Hmm...what is this all about, really? It's me jotting down ideas about things that go on in my life, and some occassional pictures of things I've seen and done.

If...

If my pocket wasn't empty before, it sure is now!

If I wasn't willing to use/buy power tools I wouldn't have curtains up!

If I didn't mind sitting/sleeping on the floor I shouldn't have moved sans furniture!

If I knew my way around Moncton better I'd have made fewer wrong turns today!

If I were home the next couple of days I'd get to see most of my siblings!

If I had some small coins I might be doing laundry right now.

If my computer behaved like it is now I wouldn't be considering a new one.

If I stop now you can comment!

(There's a song that goes: No I don't believe in IF anymore. If's an illusion, if's an illusion... No I wont believe in if anymore, if is for children, if is for children, building daydreams.)

It's true

It's very true- I'm now living in the Maritimes.

I have an address, and soon will have a phone and internet and cable...if the dude shows up tomorrow.

Peter is a kind brother- except when he plays with magnets! He went on a cruise with me today and didn't complain- much. And he's going to feed me frozen yogurt.

I'm going back to Moncton tomorrow and Peter is going to join me and help me set up my place.

Jelly fish look cool!

Fun at home

Fun at home: Packing, garage saling, packing, visiting with friends and family, packing...do you see a theme?

I'm sorry I haven't written in a while. I'm not online as much as I used to be, and will likely be in a bit of a void for the next couple of weeks, internet wise. (I haven't set up my new phone/internet yet).

Oh, about the New stuff. I'm moving! That's right. To Moncton, NB.

I'm leaving tomorrow (though I'm giving myself a couple of days to get there). I'm excited, but nervous at the same time.

I just got back (or rather, got back on Wednesday) from a 1083 km trip- visiting people here, there and everywhere. I admit, I didn't get to see everyone I wanted to (sorry to the land of vines, I had hoped to stop in!) but I did see a bunch of people. That was fun. (And slightly tiring!)

I shouldn't stay online much longer, there is still much to pack.

Oh, anyone up for pinochle? I've been on a slight winning streak- with many actual pinochles showing up in the games! (4/6 games last night, 4 pinochles!)

Happy trails to all of you setting out on adventures. I know I'm not the only one this summer!!

Packing

Is such a slow task. (Especially when you're sorting things, trying to decide what goes now, what goes later, what I'll never need again etc!) Also, I've been nicely distracted going to weddings, visiting friends and figuring out wedding presents etc!

My room looks a lot different. It's still messy, but in a new direction- boxes are everywhere, papers are stacked so that I wont forget to deal with them before I go, garbage and recycling bags are scattered around. The good thing is that I haven't found anything disturbing hiding in my room. I generally don't have food in my room, so that helps.

The other big part of packing is trying to make sure you've got everything from the places they hide around the house. I think I'm winning that particular game!

Why have you guys been letting me buy stuff this last year??! I am just amassing more to pack (and yes, that includes shoes, books, cds and dresses!).

Boxes, boxes everywhere and not a box to drink! Wait- I don't think that's quite right. You figure it out!

Mary Poppins has just started on my random tunes...telling me that "In every job that must be done there is an element of fun. You find that fun and snap the job's a game." So I guess this means I should get back at it!
